Unlike the panic hyped in social media, NASA did not take these two asteroids into account at all.
The first is 2020 C01, the asteroid, which is 120 ≤ 260 meters (400 feet) in size and will pass the Earth on the evening of September 13 (Friday).
This is followed by the asteroid 2000 QW7, which is 290 x 650 meters (950 feet) in size and will pass through Earth earlier in September 14.
NASA Planet Defense Officer Lindley Johnson said:It is quite common for both asteroids to face Earth at a distance of about 14 Earth-months (3.5 million miles away).
It is reported that NASA has been actively tracking the path of these asteroids (also known as NEOs / NEOs) for many years, and has a good understanding of their orbits. There is no need to worry about the current situation.
As for 2000 QW7, the asteroid is an interesting'space rollstone', and astronomers first discovered it in 2000 when they thought it was'unusually bright'. It will visit again in 2038, closer but still within the security line.
