IT House September 14 according to foreign media anandtech reported that Arm has officially joined the Compute Express Link (CXL) Open Cooperation Alliance. Arm is one of the few major technology companies that has not yet joined the CXL Alliance. Considering the number of chips using its IP, the addition of Arm is of great significance.
In March, Intel, together with Alibaba, Cisco, Dell EMC,Facebook, Google, HPE, Huawei and Microsoft, announced the establishment of the CXL Open Partnership, which aims to work together to develop CXL open interconnection technology and develop specifications to promote performance breakthroughs in emerging application models, while supporting data center accelerators and other rapidly enhanced open ecosystems.
CXL open interconnection technology is based on PCIe infrastructure and is a kind of open interconnection technology.
In fact, Arm has been involved in CXL working groups and provides technology and promotion resources to support the development of CXL technology. Becoming a full member of the CXL Alliance means that Arm will provide CXL with a complete software framework.
