The new icon looks more concise (the title map viaCnet)
It is reported that the new icon was first launched on the Firefox Nightly 70 version launched last weekend. The nightly build is for those who want to test the latest features, but can endure unexpected crashes or other problems.
According to the Mozilla arrangement, Firefox will test the latest features in Nightly, turn to the Beta channel in a few weeks, and finally a stable version for the general public.
Interestingly, Mozilla has not commented on this logo change. (Figure from:Mozilla)
Firefox Nightly's new logo continues the classic blue-violet color scheme. In Firefox Beta and the stable version, Mozilla is still using the familiar red, orange, and yellow colors, and the changes in the old and new logos are not so awkward.
The browser developer started the word "Quantum" in Firefox 57, released in November 2017. However, starting with the recently updated Firefox 70, the splash screen will only display "Firefox browser" instead of "Firefox Quantum".
At the time, Mozilla hoped that the Quantum brand would allow Firefox to better compete with the market-leading Google Chrome, but did not say that the Quantum brand would be used all the time.
Compared to Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox has been more committed to users' online privacy protection, such as tracking websites and online advertising. In this regard, Chrome has fallen behind Firefox, Brave, and evenappleBrowsers such as Safari.
