IT Home News July 22, according to Japan Economic News, Japanese telecommunications company NTT DoCoMo announced that it will provide free WiFi services to foreigners visiting Japan before the opening of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.
It is understood that this welfare measure only requires tourists to register DoCoMo points members to use free WiFi services at hundreds of thousands of locations such as subway stations, restaurants and so on in Japan. The plan is expected to begin deployment in April 2020, with tourist searches
At present, DoCoMo is only for domestic subscribers. It will relax restrictions before next year's Olympic Games. DoCoMo will also launch special foreign language pages to facilitate registration for tourists from English-speaking countries and China.
