DDC is an IoT solution that helps leverage the distribution center to optimize retail, manufacturing and logistics operations through real-time scalable package inspection and verification. Artificial intelligence and ML reasoning are used for multi-video stream analysis to improve the solution over time through self-learning. Because DDCs are built using the Azure IoT hub platform, their setup is simple, allowing solution adopters to focus less on the operation and management of global IoT solutions. Lenovo and Nvidia have long been recognized as key components behind adding unique value to such industry-related solutions.
Microsoft is previewing the solution at the Inspire 2019 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tech giant announced a series of new products and investments before the event, including upcoming team features, a new Azure migration plan, and more. Taking into account the negative feedback on this action, it also withdrew the decision to take internal usage rights away from partners.
DDC's future releases will add geofencing alerts, palletization, de-palletization, and last mile sorting. During the 2019 Inspire Conference, which is coming to an end on July 18, you can watch a demo of the current form of the solution at the Microsoft Partner booth.
