Japanese Panasonic said on Thursday it would comply with the U.S. ban on Huawei and stop selling some of its components to Huawei, Reuters reported. It is understood that Panasonic has been providing Huawei with electronic parts and related products. In a statement, the company said,
Panasonic emphasized that products banned from sale to Huawei were products using parts and software technology of its American company, and the notification was applicable to goods with 25% or more of the technology or materials originating in the United States.
It is not known whether Panasonic's announcement will cover other products that do not involve U.S. technology.
NHK said Panasonic manufactures devices for smartphones, automobiles and factory automation equipment, and declined to comment on which components were affected by the ban and the location of production.
