Beidou satellite navigation system is China's self-constructed and independent satellite navigation system with the aim of national security and economic and social development. It is an important national space for global users to provide all-weather, all-day, high-precision positioning, navigation and timing services. infrastructure.

Late in the night five days ago, at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the depths of the Great Liangshan Mountains, the Long March III C carrier rocket successfully launched the 45th satellite of the China Beidou satellite navigation system.

"The 之间 between trades has deeply inspired the Chinese people. The 'prepared tires' is indispensable! The Beidou system is an indispensable 'preparation tire' for industry positioning applications. The national strategic significance of Beidou is very clear. "Talking about the launch on May 17 and the construction of the Beidou satellite navigation system, Shi Xuesong, founder of Nanjing Blink Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., told the First Financial.

The Beidou No. 3 system was fully completed in 2020

Navigation technology is also a key core technology for the future. For a long time, the US GPS (Global Positioning System) has firmly controlled the global navigation and positioning market, but the recent trade disputes have made people more and more aware of the need to develop independent core technologies.

In the field of car navigation, Beidou has begun to enter the passenger vehicle front-loading market on a large scale. At present, more than 2 million vehicles have “Beidou core”; in the aviation field, China Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd. has started using Beidou navigation last year. ......

"China is not willing to be subject to people. This is the original intention of developing Beidou navigation." Marshall Kaplan, a professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Maryland, told the First Financial Reporter.

Kaplan said: "Beidou navigation system has become a core component of Chinese industry."

As early as the 1990s, China began to seek alternative GPS navigation programs to start the Beidou satellite navigation system. Today, the initial "prepared tire" of the Beidou system has finally developed into the stage of "want to turn positive and turn positive".

Wang Zhaoyao pointed out: "In the past 10 years, the global satellite navigation industry has flourished, from GPS and GLONASS global systems to today's GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo four global systems. The number of navigation satellites in orbit has also increased from more than 40 to more than a hundred."

On April 26 this year, the 44th Beidou satellite successfully entered the working track and began to provide high-precision global navigation services for China and surrounding areas as well as the “Belt and Road” region along with the Beidou Global Navigation Network Constellation. At present, the domestic Beidou products are exported to more than 80 countries and regions, covering more than 50 countries and more than 3 billion people. It is a model for China's technology exports.

According to Qi Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, from November 5, 2017 to November 19, 2018, China completed the ultra-high-density launch of the “10 Arrows and 19 Stars” of the Beidou No. 3 system in one year. Created a miracle in the history of world space.

On December 27, 2018, the Beidou system began to officially provide global services. As of April this year, the number of Beidou navigation satellites in service has reached 41.

Qi Chengqi said that in addition to launching 6 to 8 Beidou-3 satellites this year, it plans to launch two to four Beidou-3 satellites next year, and complete the construction of the Beidou No.3 system by the end of 2020, when the global short message communication will be realized. International search and rescue and other service capabilities continue to provide better services to users around the world.

It is reported that China is currently promoting a regional short message service platform to promote the integration of short messages and mobile communications, and further leverage the advantages of the Beidou system.

Industry startups flourish

Wang Jianyu, the executive deputy chief designer of the Quanzi satellite engineering project of Mozi, said to the First Financial Reporter: "At present, GPS still dominates the market, but China must have its own satellite navigation technology. To achieve The available navigation, a satellite is certainly not enough, we need to launch a lot of satellites to form a constellation. Now, with the strong promotion of the country, there are many satellites in the sky, and then the application level has to keep up."

According to the development plan, by 2020, the Beidou No. 3 network can achieve global coverage after completion. According to the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, by 2020, Beidou Navigation will generate more than 400 billion yuan in revenue.

China has emerged a large number of startup companies in the aerospace industry, and with the completion of the deployment of the Beidou navigation system, it will affect the global operation of China.Mobile phoneManufacturers, car manufacturers and aircraft manufacturers.

Statistics show that as of the end of 2018, the cumulative total number of patent applications for satellite navigation in China has exceeded 60,000, ranking first in the world. In 2018, the number of patents disclosed reached 12,684, which broke the new high again.

The construction of China Beidou navigation system is completed, and enterprises in the navigation field will directly benefit. Listed companies that develop navigation equipment products based on Beidou technology are sought after by capital. The shares of China Satellite (600118.SH) and Zhonghaida (300177.SZ) have risen by about 20% in the past three months. Beidouxingtong (002151.SZ), Hezhong Shuangzhuang (002383.SZ), China Survey Navigation (300637.SZ) This month's share price has also risen by more than 10%.

Navigation accuracy is expected to reach centimeter level

China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association's latest "White Paper on China's Satellite Navigation and Location Services Industry Development (2019)" shows that the independent innovation capability of China's satellite navigation and location service industry has been significantly enhanced in 2018, including key technologies such as domestic Beidou chips and modules. A comprehensive breakthrough was achieved, and the performance indicators were comparable to those of similar international products, and a certain price advantage has been formed.

According to the 2017 report of the US Congress's Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC), the Beidou navigation system will eventually be able to provide positioning with an accuracy of 1 meter or more, while the current GPS positioning accuracy is 2.2 meters; System, the accuracy of Beidou navigation will be able to increase to the centimeter level.

In the future, Beidou navigation system will not only play a role in autonomous driving, but also reduce the dependence of smartphones and car navigation on US GPS.

“The global coverage of Beidou navigation will greatly improve the positioning accuracy of autonomous driving and contribute to the development of autonomous driving. The more satellite positioning information the car receives, the more accurate the positioning.” The domestic electronic map provider NavInfo ( 002405.SZ) CEO Cheng Peng previously told the First Financial Reporter, "On the other hand, for the sake of national security, it is necessary to develop the Beidou navigation system."

Cheng Peng introduced to the First Financial Reporter that the current NavInfo map product is divided into three levels. The accuracy of the first generation navigation map is 10 meters, and the accuracy of the second generation assisted navigation navigation ADAS is about 1 meter. The accuracy of the completed third-generation high-precision map is about 10 cm, and it is about to be mass-produced.

In the field of car navigation, Beidou has begun to enter the passenger vehicle front-loading market on a large scale. At present, more than 2 million vehicles have “Beidouxin”, which will affect imported cars and joint ventures. They need to make designs. change.

Shi Xuesong told the First Financial Reporter: "The map manufacturer is going to do two things now. First, determine the standard for high-precision maps that are sufficient for automatic driving. Because precision, attributes, and data volume are contradictory, they must be unified. Second, the high-precision map mapping and data production of actual roads, because the mapping of maps is inseparable from precision positioning."

However, Shi Xuesong admits that equipment manufacturers usually choose from the cost considerations, which will become an obstacle to the promotion of Beidou in the application field. "The chips compatible with several positioning systems in the world are much higher than the cost of supporting only GPS chips. Therefore, only application units that take into account long-term security will be the first to use them."
