Previously, such devices usually carried low-power SoCs such as Cherry Trail and Apollo Lake.
However, UP Xtreme SBC is designed for high-performance embedded applications in the mobile field. It offers the option of 15W TDP dual-core/quad-core Whiskey Lake processor (integrated with Intel UHD Graphics 620 core display).
In terms of extension, UP Xtreme SBC provides a SATA, an M.2-2280 (PCIe 3.0 x 2), an M.2-2230, 40 pin HAT connectors and 100 pin-to-pin connectors.
Because UP Xtreme supports abundant connection options, it can be used not only in various embedded systems, but also in combination with various customized design modules, such as AAEON AI module, Intel Real Sense camera, etc.
UP Extreme supports other emerging applications such as computer vision and artificial intelligence. At the same time, SBC is compatible with Android,Windows10. Ubuntu and Yocto operating systems.
Finally, AAEON hasn't disclosed the price of UP Xtreme single board computers yet, but considering that Intel Whiskey Lake processors start at $281 (1890 RMB) per 1,000 units, you can't expect entry-level UP Extremes to be much cheaper.
