According to reports, the investigation team conducted data validation on one of the black boxes of the Boeing airliner crashed by Essex Airlines and found that there was "obvious similarity" between the accident and the Boeing airliner crash of Lion Airlines in Indonesia.

"We will fully cooperate with the Ministry of Transport's audit work," Boeing said in a statement.

Boeing's aircraft have been approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation since the last 60 years and have entered the civil aviation market. The plane Boeing 737 Max was approved by the US Department of Transportation in March 2017.

The Wall Street Journal had previously reported that the Department of Transport was preparing to investigate the Federal Aviation Administration's approval of Boeing's 737 MAX jet, an investigation aimed at determining whether there was a potential oversight in federal safety certification for new aircraft.

It is reported that the Office of the Inspector General of the United States Department of Transportation will determine whether appropriate design standards and engineering analysis are used to certify the stall prevention system (MCAS) of aircraft. The survey focused on two FAA offices in Seattle, one responsible for certifying the safety of new and follow-up models, and the other for specifying training requirements and issuing fleet training plans.

FAA17 said that the approval for the airworthiness of Boeing 737 MAX, which was put into use in 2017, met the department's "standard certification procedures", including design analysis, ground and flight testing, maintenance requirements and cooperation with other civil aviation departments. The FAA's "certification process is quite mature and has consistently performed well in certifying the safety of aircraft," the Ministry statement said.
