Netease Technologies News March 14, according to Forbes magazine reports, patent blog Patent Mobile found the latest patent documents show that Google may join Samsung and Huawei in the competition for foldable mobile phones.
The latest patent application shows that Google's foldable mobile phone is a relatively simple outward folding device with wide gap hinges, similar to Microsoft's Surface Book design. It's not clear how the hinges affect the overall thickness of the device, but the screen itself may be thinner than the smartphone screen.

In addition, the patent documents do not provide any information about the second or third screen, nor do they have specifications. It should be noted that the information presented here may only be patent application information, and does not represent the final product design.
However, if Google designs its products according to patent documents, introducing an inward-folding flip-flop device may be much better than creating a hybrid design of mobile phones and tablets. Similar to Motorola's Razr V4, the flip phone is actually a foldable smartphone, which achieves the core goal of a foldable smartphone: compactness and convenience.
Google should also be slightly ahead of other upcoming foldable phones because of its technical cooperation with Samsung in foldable phones. Google helped Samsung roll out Android Pie with foldable features, and there may be more foldable features in Android Q.
