RedHat removes MongoDB, Debian is considering

Last October, MongoDBAnnounceIts open source license is switched from GNU AGPLv3 to Server Side Public License (SSPL), hoping to generate revenue from software as a service or cloud computing business. But licensing changes are driving major Linux distributions away from MongoDB, and the impact is being felt.

Red Hat from its RHEL 8.0 BetaRemovedMongoDB, for SSPL; Debian developers, toodiscussMongoDB is not included in the main library; FedoraAnnounceSSPL (currently version V1) is not a free software license. Its Bad License will include SSPLv1, which means it will not include MongoDB.
