Piper Jaffray said the survey was a vote of confidence in Apple's new iPhone design. According to the survey, 82% of teenagers with smartphones use the iPhone. However, from the purchase intention, 86% of teenagers plan to choose the iPhone as the next mobile phone, which is higher than the 84% in the spring.
The iPhone XR may be particularly attractive to American teenagers, offering some features similar to the iPhone X/XS, and at a significantly lower price. Analysts are optimistic about the sales of the iPhone XR, although the model has not yet officially entered the market.
In addition to the iPhone, the survey results show that the willingness to purchase Apple Watch has reached an all-time high. Piper Jaffray said that American teens' interest in Apple Watch has risen sharply, with 23% planning to buy Apple Watch in the next six months, compared with 20% in the spring of 2018.
Interestingly, when teenagers with higher family incomes were asked about their favorite watch brands (not the ones they were planning to buy), Apple Watch ranked second, only after Rolex.
