Facebook continues to fund the Zuckerberg Security Plan to cover his personal protection costs, purchase, install and maintain special security measures for his home. Fees and the cost of using a private jet for personal travel," Facebook said in the document.
Facebook said the company will pay Zuckerberg this allowance. He can use this allowance to pay for security personnel, equipment, services, and improvements to residential conditions.
Facebook said that the company's approval of this allowance is based on Zuckerberg's "status and importance on Facebook" and his salary. Zuckerberg’s salary last year was only $1. “In this case, the company committee believes that this allowance, along with the cost of Zuckerberg’s existing overall security plan, is appropriate and necessary,” Facebook said in the SEC filing.
According to Facebook's proxy documents submitted in April this year, Zuckerberg's security budget has been growing since 2015. Zuckerberg’s security costs in 2015 were $4.2 million.
