After Christmas,AmazonAnnounced the sale of "tens of millions" of voice assistant Alexa equipment. Amazon provided a wide range of technical usage details and referred Alexa 19 times in a news interview.
The company said the Alexa Skills Store offers more than 30,000 skills, including tools for players, who can use Alexa to control more than 4,000 devices. New skills include beauty live, game shows and history channel quiz.
Alexa technology is being used on computers in companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo, and more tools have been released, so third parties can add Alexa to their applications. Amazon Web Services also launched Alexa for Business, which lets employees link it to their corporate systems to find open meeting rooms, make phone calls or manage to-do lists.
Currently, the five most popular electronic devices on the Amazon Web site are Alexa-compatible products. They include Amazon set-top boxes and three smart audio devices.
Thanks to the frenzy in the holiday shopping season, Amazon's fourth-quarter results were impressive, making the above statement even more evident. Amazon's revenue reached 60.5 billion US dollars, an increase of 38%.
