According to foreign media reports, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will become the most dazzling star in Mobile World Congress in a matter of weeks, but the final design of this new flagship and its big-screen counterpart has been leaked ahead of schedule.
The Galaxy S9 will become Samsung's flagship smartphone in 2018 and its main rival this year is the 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus that Apple will release later on.
It is reported that, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + will be based on the previous generation of products evolved, plus a small amount of innovation. They are expected to look very similar to the designs we've seen on the Galaxy S8 and Note 8, which are the narrow bezel and the left and right edged screen designs.
However, according to the invitation letter from Samsung earlier this week, the real highlight of this new product will be the phone back. The minimalist invitation reads only "camera, redesign" and other words, Samsung apparently hinted Galaxy S9 and S9 + camera there will be some significant changes. If the rumor is true, it will involve some special hardware and software.
Now, according to the pictures released by VentureBeat, the Galaxy S9 will be equipped with a 5.8-inch screen, S9 + is equipped with a 6.2-inch screen, which is no different than the previous generation of products. Inside the handset, the Galaxy S9 and S9 + for the US and China will be equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 chip, while the products offered to other markets will use Samsung's own Exynos 9810 chip.
Compared with the previous generation, the biggest difference between the Galaxy S9 and S9 + is the camera sensor. The new flagship phone apparently uses a 12-megapixel sensor that switches between f / 2.4 and f / 1.5 apertures. Both new phones will support action-enabled 720p 480fps ultra-slow motion capture, such as when you're running in front of the camera or when a car is passing out of the camera.
Meanwhile, Galaxy S9 + will be equipped with a fixed aperture 12 million pixel rear camera. This design we have seen on the Galaxy Note 8, and is likely to be applied to portrait shooting mode. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera is expected to be standard on both new phones.
If there is anything weird about these two new phones, that's their storage and memory configuration. According to the newly leaked information, Samsung has adopted different tactics on these two new phones in order to further differentiate the Galaxy S9 and S9 +. It is said Galaxy S9 will be configured 4GB RAM and 64GB of memory, while the Galaxy S9 + will be configured 6GB RAM and 128GB of memory. In addition, both new phones will be equipped with stereo speakers.
All details about the two new flagship phones will be announced on February 25, when Samsung will hold a new conference during the 2018 Mobile World Congress.
