At CES 2018, which opens today, NVIDIA unveiled a new auto-car system powered by Xavier chips. The Xavier chip consists of an 8-core ARM64-bit CPU and a 512-core Volta-based GPU with 30 TOPS deep learning power but only 30W.

At the core of autopilot is deep learning, which requires the car to be artificial intelligence in every respect - to perceive the environment, to reasonably determine the state of the environment, and to plan the best course of action. In order to meet this demand, NVIDIA has developed the DRIVE PX 2 supercomputer and the DRIVE PX 2 with the Xavier chip will inevitably become the NVIDIA Future Automation Driving the main force.

NVIDIA also unveiled the "AI Co-Pilot" assisted driving system, a set of deep neural networks that assist driver driving while managing sensors external to the car while at the same time reading the driver's lips based on the driver's voice, Language and eyes, to complete the auxiliary driving function. In other words, with this set of deep neural networks, drivers can and car do "people and vehicles together", the driver's voice, body language and facial features can be subtle changes in feedback to the car over the budget for analysis , Eventually achieve coordinated driving.

The site also released a new NVIDIA AI vehicle platform (AI Car Platform). The platform includes DriveWorks software in the car and MapWorks in the cloud, allowing more deep neural networks to operate autopilot-related tasks.
