According to a recent survey conducted by market research firm CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners), Apple's Apple Store retail stores are still the most popular places to buy new Macs in the United States.
From October 2016 to September 2017, Apple's Apple Store and online store Mac sales accounted for about 40% of total Mac sales, this data comes from the same period to buy Mac computer 2000 respondents.
In 2001, when Apple's first Apple Store retail store opened, Apple is still known as "Apple Computer", and Mac is the company's main product. Of course, now have the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV and other products.
"It was not surprising that Apple's initial retail store was designed to promote Mac computers, so Mac sales were still about 40 percent of Mac's sales," said Josh Lowitz, co-founder of CIRP.
Although Apple is the most popular Mac retailer, but because the Mac product line is the company to build, so this is not surprising. However, considering that third-party resellers like B & amp; H and MacMall can provide better deals, they are also worthy of Apple's attention.
In contrast, the survey found that only 20% of the iPad and 10% of the iPhone is sold directly by Apple. "In fact, Best Buy iPad is selling more than Apple, and the operator store has become an important retailer for Apple's tablet PCs," Lowitz said.
In the iPhone, as of September 2017 in 12 months, Apple's iPhone sales share is the lowest. According to CIRP data, about 77% of consumers through Verizon or AT & amp; T and other operators to buy iPhone.
The research firm said sales would fluctuate during the new product launch, return season, and holiday shopping season.
