About two months ago Snapchat launched the Stories search feature Stories in Search, and now Instagram also launched a similar Stories search function. Instagram users can now search for location or subject tags, and view other Stories posts that contain the location tag or subject tag. Location Stories for nearby locations are now displayed on the Explore page.
Instagram users can view the weather or what is happening in Stories, or see a major news topic or random subject. This can increase the time for users to use Stories. But now Instagram says that no ads will appear in the new search function.
Last week, foreign media TechCrunch reported that Instagram is testing the Location Stories function, Tuesday found that the Explore page appeared in the "Location Stories & rdquo ;. TechCrunch also expects Instagram to officially launch the Hashtag Stories feature in the coming weeks.
Instagram wrote: "From the discovery of my city's new location to the world's #fromwhereirun community, location and theme tag search capabilities can help you share these experiences. & Rdquo;
However, Instagram's new functionality is slightly different from Snapchat's search function. Snapchat users must submit a Story post in "Our Story" to make it appear in the search. Once you submit it, Snapchat will view text subtitles, emoticons, stickers, shots, geolocation and metadata, and use machine vision to detect objects or scenes.
Instagram does not need to explicitly commit, but uses less explicit signals to index the search, and Snapchat needs to be submitted explicitly and then indexed with a wide range of signals. Both use algorithmic strategies to classify eligible posts and search for the most relevant posts.
