As the world's three major giants of science and technology, Amazon, Microsoft and Google in the cloud service market ups and downs for decades. Although the Amazon AWS occupy the global cloud services market nearly half of the country, but this did not affect Microsoft, Google and so on its fierce chase. In the morning, Amazon, Microsoft and Google parent company Alphabet released the previous quarter earnings, which the industry's three companies in the cloud service revenue and growth expressed strong concern.

According to foreign media reports, Amazon today announced its first quarter of 2017 profit report. Amazon AWS this season is still outstanding performance for the Amazon total revenue contribution of 10%, while the net profit contributed more than 80%.

The report shows that Q1 2010 total revenue of $ 35.7 billion, up 23% over the same period last year; net profit of $ 724 million, an increase of 41% over the same period last year. Among them, AWS cloud services total sales of 3.661 billion US dollars, an increase of 43%, operating income of 890 million US dollars, some slight decline. Although the AWS in the previous quarter, the main data center S3 problem, but this did not affect its contribution to the total revenue in the Amazon. AWS earnings and profits are more than expected, contributing 80% of the profits for the Amazon.

In addition to disclosing revenue and operating margins, Amazon has also mentioned many new AWS products, such as Amazon Chime (making online meetings easier) and publishing the central technology of Amazon Connect. The company also said that this year will AWS cloud services open to France and China, the cloud sector and NASA is also working to strive to provide the highest resolution of the space video live service.

However, according to foreign media point of view, in a way, AWS annual revenue growth rate is expected to slow down the phenomenon. Two years ago, AWS was a smaller business for Amazon, so its growth rate showed a slight upward trend. In the second quarter of 2015, AWS total revenue grew 81.5%, an increase of 78% in the following quarter. After that, AWS's revenue growth rate has been declining.

At the same time, Microsoft this morning also released the third quarter of 2017 earnings. From the earnings data, Microsoft's net profit rose 28% to 4.8 billion US dollars, revenue growth of 8% to 22 billion US dollars. The main growth momentum comes from the cloud computing sector, the sector revenue reached 6.7 billion US dollars, up 11% over the same period last year, while Azure's sales grew 93% over the same period.

Compared with the Amazon AWS revenue growth rate, Microsoft Azure growth faster than the former. In the third quarter of 2017, Azure cloud service growth over the same period increased by 93%, AWS cloud service is 2 times. In addition, from the chart above, the second quarter of 2016 to the third quarter of 2017, Azure growth rate, although there is a slight decline, but are maintained at around 100%.

Of course, compared with the Google cloud service sector, Amazon AWS is clearly better than the former too much. According to Google's parent company Alphabet released the first quarter of 2017 financial results show that Google in the quarter revenue of $ 24.5 billion, of which $ 21.4 billion from advertising revenue. But its cloud sector is still weak, obviously behind the Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, and even the department's profit data are not mentioned in the earnings report. However, Google obviously "is not in this" artificial intelligence is the big head of its concern.

And in February this year, a data show that the Amazon AWS is still the global cloud market leader. According to Synergy Research Group, as of early February, AWS controlled 40% of the public cloud services market, while Microsoft, IBM and Google reached 23%.
