Facebook and Google join CrossCheck to crack down on fake news for the French general election

Since the birth of the news, rumors and false news never stopped. In the United States during the presidential election, because the false news world's largest social network Facebook has been questioned. Facebook and Google announced their intention to join the cross-industry alliance to help the public judge the authenticity of online media reports in an effort to combat false online news, in response to the April presidential election in France.


After joining the alliance, it will not only take advantage of Google's News Lab and Facebook's CrowdTangle technology, but CrossCheck will launch a number of French newsrooms to verify the authenticity of online content in the form of videos, memos, photos and news article.
