In the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft said it will not only enhance the Bluetooth function, but also for the wearable device to modify the notification function. In today's blog post, Microsoft said that based on user feedback and suggestions, has been with the Fitbit, Garmin manufacturers, including cooperation to improve the Bluetooth function, some of which new features have been released in the recently released preview version.
In the latest version of Windows 10 Build 15007 Microsoft has implemented three major Bluetooth features, namely GATT Server, Bluetooth LE Peripheral, and unpaired Bluetooth LE devices. GATT Server is the biggest beneficiary of Windows 10 Mobile users, can significantly improve the experience with wearable devices, smart phones can play a role, when other devices connected via Bluetooth will send a notice.
Microsoft explained: "Windows Phone (client) to read from the heart rate monitor (server) on the data, to track whether the user is in the best fitness state. Windows is usually used as a GATT client, but in Windows 10 Creators Update, Windows can also play the role of the server. & Rdquo;
"Your phone or PC can have notification / user credential information that the wearable device can not have. For example, when a text message is received, Windows can play the role of GATT server, reminding SMS to a nearby wearable device. "With these improvements, wearable devices are finally able to get notified when they are paired with Windows 10 Mobile devices, and developers need to update their applications to support this feature." Fitbit first to achieve this feature, but unfortunately Window10Mobile does not get too many mainstream wearable manufacturers support, so Microsoft also need more effort. Although Microsoft did improve the Windows 10 Mobile Bluetooth, but with Android and iOS still a gap between, after all, developers support is not enough.
