English Original:Microsoft Announces Azure DNS General Availability

On Sept. 26, Microsoft announced that its Azure DNS service is available in all publicly available Azure areas (General Availability, GA). The Azure DNS service was first proposed in May 2015 at the Ignite event hosted by Microsoft.

Sean Wheeler from the Microsoft Azure Web teamdescriptionAzure DNS allows its users to host their DNS domain in Azure and can use their credentials, billing and support contracts to manage their DNS records using the same credentials as other Azure services. & Rdquo;

Jonathan Tuliani, Project Manager, Networks, Microsoft,to sum upBenefits of hosting DNS on Azure:

  • Reliability & mdash; Azure DNS service can be built-in large-scale backup to ensure high user domain availability. As a global service, Azure DNS through its control panel and DNS service panel, the Azure multi-zone access failure and network partition has a better flexibility.
  • Microsoft's global network of domain name servers using anycast to ensure that users of DNS queries are always routed to the nearest server, in order to provide the fastest possible response.
  • Ease of use & mdash; & mdash; The DNS domain and records of users on Azure DNS can easily be managed through the Azure Portal, Azure PowerShell or the Azure CLI Client for cross-platform. In addition, you can also provide through the Microsoft SDK or REST API and application integration.
  • Security - mdash; Azure DNS Azure services like other Azure Azure identity authentication and authority to set up features. Multifactor authentication and role-based access control can be configured with Azure.
  • Convenience & mdash; & mdash; Users in the Azure hosted DNS domain, you can in the same system to manage their own Azure applications and DNS records. Here, users only need to use a set of credentials, a set of bills and end-to-end technical support.

For users who purchase a domain name from a third-party organization, they can use Azure DNS to proxy their DNS. In this way, users can take advantage of Microsoft's global reach and99. 99% Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Users with Azure DNS services can reduce the local DNS server dependencies. Joe Stocker from the Patriot Consulting Technology GroupExplanationSay:

If all of the external DNS servers of a user are at the same physical address, Azure DNS provides users with the opportunity to migrate to a more resilient solution. Azure DNS can automatically load balance across multiple zones. & Rdquo;

Microsoft has teamed up with other third-party companies including Men & amp; Mice to integrate Azure DNS into their software management solutions. Today, if you use the solution provided by Men & amp; Mice, you can manage their DNS, DHCP and IPAM configurations and Azure DNS configurations with a simple set of tools.

Men & amp; Mice in the recentBowenSummarizes why it is important to provide Azure DNS support:

The Men & Mice and Azure DNS teams have been working closely with Azure DNS Preview to fully support Azure DNS in the Men & Mice Suite. Users of the Men & amp; Mice suite can now enjoy the high availability, performance, cost, and convenience of the Azure DNS by hosting their domain names on the Azure DNS cloud while providing DNS through the Men & amp; Mice suite , DHCP and IP Address Management Tool (DDI) to continue to have full control over their DNS domain and IP address blocks. & Rdquo;

Like many other Microsoft Azure services, Azure DNS charges through a usage model, instead of up-front or termination fees. Microsoft's usage model is based on the number of Azure-hosted DNS domains and the number of DNS queries received by the Azure DNS service. For more details on the pricing model, please visitlink.
